When the clock strikes 12, the rona will disappear, everything will open again, Barack Obama will become President again, student loans will be wiped out by a hacker, and Trump will be beheaded for his sins. SIKE. Clairvoyance is not some cute party trick. It’s an honor & a blessing to have the gift of foresight. I was hesitant to share my predictions for the new year because 1. I prefer to mind my business, 2. It reminds me of the days when Sylvia Browne would appear on Montell Williams for her predictions & the scrutiny she faced from so many people, and 3. The good ol fear of INACCURACY. But I came across a tweet by Witch Doctor Alex that reminded me that we’re all still HUMAN. Nobody is perfect. I’m thankful to have came across his message at the time that I did.
So here we are! Another new year. Don’t worry I’ll skip out on the 2020 reflections. We all know this year fucking SUCKED. But we are all anxious & eager to see what 2021 has in store. Below I’ll break down eleven of my 2021 predictions. From Kamala Harris, to Mother Nature & the coronavirus vaccine, I’ll share with you guys the good, the bad & the in between of what we can expect to occur in 2021.
THE GOOD
1. KAMALA’S REDEMPTION
Our new VIP Kamala Harris will be making some strides in women’s rights issues that will begin to shift the narrative around her image & the public will begin to embrace her more. Her damage as a prosecutor can’t be undone, but her efforts in 2021 will help her to face less scrutiny about it.
2. CORONA CAPSIZING
Expect there to be A LOT of ups & downs with coronavirus restrictions. If you think the disparities in state to state regulations is crazy now, just wait until this spring. Some states will be open & thriving, moving with their new regulations in place. Other states will still be on lockdown. The only issue here is going to be travel. With these disparities, travel restrictions may increase, so travel to & from certain states may be even more difficult than it is now.
3. A TRAIL OF WHITE TEARS
There will likely be some sort of policy changes on local and/or federal levels that will cause a big uproar amongst white nationalists. They’ll be out in the streets protesting with their confederate flags, bruised egos & generational curses looming. Ya know, the usual. Nothing to see here.
4. JESUS & JUJU
2021 marks the beginning of another massive spiritual awakening occurring across the globe. This year there will be a lot of Christians, specifically, re-learning how to navigate their religion in a way that supports their spiritual journey, by incorporating their roots & an ancestral connection. Black Christians across the world will be awakening, tapping into the spiritual systems & ways of our ancestors, while still keeping a Bible verse on lock. Expect a lot of talk about “new Christians” & unorthodox churches that incorporate African spirituality to begin popping up in 2021 & beyond, becoming a new trend in spiritualit. Finally, Thanksgiving & Christmas dinner we might be able to do without all that friction when the tarot reading auntie walks in the room. We can only PRAY!
5. PEACE IN THE MOTHERLAND
Expect some positive changes to be made in Nigeria’s police force. After this entire SARS mess, there’s a lot of clean up work to be done but the Nigerian government is game. These changes will receive global attention & begin influencing policies in other countries. Don’t expect Amerikkka to catch on though. We won’t.
THE BAD
6. DON’T EAT THAT!
Remember that BIG lettuce recall we had a couple years back? The one where it was difficult to even buy anything besides bagged lettuce? Yeah, that shit is happening again. I’m not sure if it will be with lettuce again, though. I feel as though we may be facing something slightly differ with a meat or produce or recall that’s going to receive national, if not international attention. There will be a lot of cases of food poisoning going around. Either way, wash your fruits, veggies & meats THOROUGHLY. If you’re eating out & anything tastes just SLIGHTLY off, send it back to the kitchen. Your stomach will hopefully thank me later.
7. ANOTHER FALLEN HERO
We likely lose another legendary or talented person due to some sort of violent act or a violent accident of some sort. I’m sensing this will be a black male celebrity or athlete. Expect the tears & hashtags to be flowing.
8. MOTHER NATURE MELTDOWN
There will likely be a major natural disaster in the Middle East or Asia. Anywhere from several dozen to several hundred people may be harmed, displaced or perish due to this incident. I feel this happening potentially over the summer. Surprisingly though, this will lead to a better economy in whichever country this happens upon the renovations & rebuilding afterwards.
9. PARIS? NOT IF IT AIN’T TEXAS
Expect hella travel restrictions for Americans. Many counties will have systems in place for those who have been vaccinated & those who have not. With so many countries being able to get a grasp on “da rona”, beginning to have events again, moving towards a new normalcy, the US will continue to fall behind. Expect MORE countries to close their borders to Americans up until the end of the year.
10. BLM FADING TO BLACK
Nothing will likely change as it pertains to police brutality in 2021. More black lives will become hashtags & statistics. What leaves a bad taste in my mouth about it in the upcoming year is the lack of activism behind all of the incidents that will happen. There likely won’t be any more lives taken than in previous years but it’s looking like only the TRUE activists will be making moves in 2021. People’s attention (yes even the people in our own community!) will be elsewhere. There’s also a certain comfort level now that we have a Democrat in the Oval Office, so people are feeling a sense of freedom that isn’t really there. But activism will likely pick back up in years to come. Our community is just looking real ashy in 2021. Lotion up y’all!
THE IN BETWEEN
11. SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS! EVERYBODY!!!!!
Not the alcohol kind, but the vaccine kind. At the top of 2021 there will continue to be a lot of division when it comes to the new coronavirus vaccine. There will likely be a few highly publicized negative reactions (possibly even death) that will cause even more division around this topic. Lots of media warfare. People will be fighting to prove their side is right. However, the vaccine will continue to prove to be effective. There will likely become MORE added advisories about not taking it if you have certain preexisting conditions, which is going to leave a big handful of people without a valid option for vaccination. Expect more people to eventually become open to receiving the vaccine. Lots of celebrities will hop on board to push the narrative (expect a trendy vaccine hashtag or TikTok challenge to emerge). Ultimately fear will begin to subside toward the end of the year. Expect more new versions of the vaccine to come in next few consecutive years.
IN CONCLUSION
It will be intriguing to see how this new year will pan out & if these visions will come into fruition. As we all know energy is constantly shifting & changing.
